It seems like there’s always something going on in New Orleans: Mardis Gras. Jazz Fest. Widespread flooding. (Too soon?) We missed those world-famous events—and the chaos that comes with them—but our visit did overlap with Navy Week. We got a kick out of watching the sailors patrol the French Quarter in their dress whites, clutching daiquiries in brighly colored plastic cups. And the Tall Ships transformed the usually drab lakefront area into a temporary, floating museum.
